As he admits that he escaped from

a Lunatic Asylum where presumably he was

lawfully detained, I think we ought to com-

bunicate with his family, giving such inf. as we

have, with his address.

Mr. Gent tells me that when he called

here Mr. Carpmael stated that he was in communication

with his brother, also that the attendants

at the Asylum helped him to escape. Jut I fear

we cannot bank on his statements being those of

a sane man.
